Interesting. I'd love to see more of what he was really able to do. From the end it sounds like he was able to maintain a steady flight level but I wonder if he was able to climb any. I think I've seen somewhere a similar setup with a rigid wing structure. It would appear we are getting very near to the point where small jet engines have the power to weight ratio required to make a small personal flight craft/suit possible. Lifting off is still the big problem however.
Personally however I'm not sure I want jet fuel strapped to my body in hot water bottles. *grin*
Just got this in from a friend. And we thought the little old lady from Pasadena was hot! (Hmm, wonder how many of the younger folks here know what I'm talking about there?) Talk about a hobby! As the article said it needs an engine and considering how rare the Merlin engines are I doubt it will ever fly. At least not with a real Spitfire engine.
