So far I've only heard bad things about Windows 7 from only one person who had his screen flicking constantly after installing windows 7.

Mine installed quite smoothly.

I suppose I'll find stuff I missed eventually, but it looks great so far.

Was it a Samsung monitor?

Samsung haven't made proper drivers yet for them. Heard about it and it's been on several places such as google searches.

If I remember correctly, it was a Dell laptop. it seems that his drivers are bad. After a certain point, the drivers for the nvidia card in it all had errors with the powermizer. Something about it changing the frequency of the refresh rate I think. Turning off the powermizer can stop the flickering on the screen but makes some program not work.
He chose to simply give up on Windows 7 and go back to Vista.
